I felt the wrath of the wind
It whipped the sand from my hair and skin
And my eyes were swollen as I stood and watched the land slowly fade away
Yeah, I stood there staring at the empty parking lot
Did you see me wave or were you on your way back home?
My ship set sail in the wind
Your path was lit and I had to give in
It seemed like all or nothing and it felt like we had died
Flown straight to paradise
Yeah, we were all together and we sang under the moon
We sang out of tune, we sang out of tune
Like a night in June
Back home
Will you never move back home?
I sat myself down, out of the wind
No reason to doubt we'd meet again
A lingering departure
I sank and my head swam
And though it ended
The bells and whistles, pots and pans would stay with me for days
And I knew the sky above me would save me from myself
Always, always
